Shashi Upadhyay, Ph.D.

Chief Executive Officer

Shashi is responsible for advancing Lattice Engines' vision to deliver the power of Big Data to sales and marketing organizations. Since the company’s founding, Lattice has changed the lives of tens of thousands of sales and marketing professionals with award-winning technology that enables them to be more successful and their companies to drive more revenue.

Before Lattice, Shashi was a partner at McKinsey & Company where he advised several Fortune 500 clients on improving their productivity. He has also served as an expert resource to CEOs of several companies to help conduct operational and strategic turnarounds.

Outside of technology, Shashi was an advisor to Amar Chitra Katha, the leading children's publication in India. Shashi holds an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur and a Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University.

Kent McCormick, Ph.D.

President & CTO

Kent is responsible for setting product direction and deployment activities. Before founding Lattice Engines, Kent served as director of business operations at EMC. In this role, he led pricing and operational analytics for all of EMC. Before this, Kent was a consultant at McKinsey & Company working with Fortune 500 companies on product development and to solve sales and marketing business problems.

He received a Ph.D. in Physics from Berkeley, and before that a dual-degree in Physics and Mathematics from Rice University.

Howie Shohet

Chief Financial Officer

Howie leads Finance, Planning, Administration and Human Resources at Lattice Engines. Prior to Lattice, Howie was the CFO for C3, a leader in enterprise energy management software. He was previously Senior Business Finance Controller at Juniper Networks where he led finance for Juniper's enterprise, switching, security, and data center business groups. Howie was also Executive Director at Siebel Systems, responsible for worldwide financial planning and analysis.

Howie received his BS in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Michael McCarroll

SVP, Sales

Michael McCarroll is responsible for developing and expanding customer relationships through the achievement of customer revenue lift. Prior to Lattice Engines, Michael was co-founder and President of SAAS-based analytics software provider InformLink (acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation in 2003). Michael served as head of sales for CSC’s analytics offering and was a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Michael earned a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from School of Engineering at Stanford University.

Brian Kardon

Chief Marketing Officer

Brian is responsible for the company's market positioning, demand generation, thought leadership, and integrated marketing to ensure strong connections with customers and constituents.

Prior to Lattice Engines, Brian was a driving force behind Eloqua's explosive growth and leadership in the Revenue Performance Management sector. Before Eloqua, Brian was Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at Forrester Research, where he helped turn the brand into a leader in the technology research sector. He also served as CMO at Reed Business Information, the largest B2B publisher in the world.

Brian received his BS and MBA degrees from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Ray Patterson, Jr. CPA

VP, Professional Services

Ray leads Lattice’s services and education organizations dedicated to the success of its global customers.

He previously served as vice president of professional services at ArcSight, an HP Company and security industry leader, for nearly a decade. While there, Ray was part of the team that led the enterprise security management company to market leadership, an IPO and subsequent acquisition by HP. He launched the company’s Security Operations Consulting practice, which served its Fortune 100 and government customers, and drove strategic relationships with system integrators and channel partners. Previous to ArcSight, Patterson held consulting and business development positions at Oracle and Verisign.

Ray earned a BS from George Mason University, a BA from Virginia Tech and an MBA from George Washington University. He is also a decorated former U.S. Army officer and Lieutenant Colonel experienced in leading organizations of 500+ as a Battalion Commander.

Andrew Schwartz, Ph.D.

VP & Chief Architect

Andrew is responsible for Lattice Engines technology platform and leads the development team. He has participated in a wide variety of software projects, with an emphasis on optimization and messaging systems. Prior to Lattice, he served as technical partner at R.T. Shin and Associates, a DARPA-funded knowledge management startup, as a senior company architect at ProfitLogic, Inc., as an application architect at 724 Solutions, and as team lead at Algorithmics, Inc.

Andrew holds a B.Sc. from McGill University with a Ph.D. from Harvard University, both in Mathematics. His Ph.D. research was in the area of Algebraic Geometry, under the direction of Heisuke Hironaka.

Janet Lee

VP, Products

Janet is responsible for the product roadmap and development of Lattice Engines technology. Prior to joining Lattice, Janet led the product management team for Analytical Applications at Oracle Retail (formerly ProfitLogic), overseeing the product roadmap of a suite of retail optimization applications. Prior to Oracle, Janet held senior level positions in product management at enterprise software companies Frictionless Commerce (acquired by SAP) and Marcam (acquired by Invensys).

Janet earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brandeis University. She is a co-inventor on a patent for "A System and Method for Real Time Activity Based Accounting (7,685,029).”

Tim Carruthers

VP, Engineering

Tim is responsible for product development, quality assurance and technical operations at Lattice Engines. Tim has more than 20 years of experience engineering, managing and leading global teams in the development of enterprise products and solutions.

Prior to joining Lattice, Tim was Vice President of Engineering at e-Dialog (acquired by GSI Commerce) where he led the development of its SaaS email marketing platform. Prior to e-Dialog, Tim held executive and management positions at Netegrity (acquired by CA), Predictive Networks and Sybase. Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Portsmouth, England.

Anjai “AJ” Gandhi

Vice President, Customer Solutions

AJ is dedicated to ensuring the success of Lattice's enterprise customers. He brings the company more than 20 years of B2B sales and marketing experience, including most recently, as vice president of Global Sales Strategy and Operations at salesforce.com.

Prior to salesforce.com, AJ spent the majority of his career in management consulting, including senior roles at McKinsey and Company, Corporate Executive Board and Alexander Group, where he specialized in B2B sales and marketing issues. Collectively, he has advised more than 50 Fortune 1000 companies across all major geographies with an emphasis in high tech and business services.

AJ has a B.S. from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
