Analytics Engineer (Generalist)
Location: Palo Alto, CA; Boston, MA; New York, NY
Role and Responsibilities:
The Analytics Engineer (AE) will be responsible for executing complex business and database analytics as part of delivering Lattice Solutions to our customers. The AE will work closely with a customer delivery team composed of 2-3 people with mixed backgrounds (business & sales, mathematics & predictive analytics, database & data management). The successful candidate will have a proven track-record of solving complex analytical problems. He/she should feel comfortable interacting in teams and should reflect an energetic, "can-do" attitude. Candidates must have interest & aptitude in engaging directly with Lattice end-customers. Some travel (30%) and customer-site work may be required.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have used either SQL Server or Oracle databases to solve analytical problems in a previous job.
- The analytics experience should include building and maintaining OLAP solutions, building complex Excel and Access models, and working with Reporting solutions.
- Experience with VBA and .Net or Analysis Services will be considered a major plus
- Applicant could be an analyst in a consulting firm, investment firm or large company (e.g. eBay)
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (Math, Physics, Economics, and Engineering) is preferred
- IT Analysts (or Business Analysts in IT organizations) with ONLY requirements gathering experience, or DBAs should not apply to this job
