Analytics Engineer (OLAP Specialist)
Location: Palo Alto, CA; Boston, MA; New York, NY
Role and Responsibilities:
The OLAP Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and performance tuning OLAP solutions as part of delivering Lattice Solutions to our customers. The AE will work closely with a customer delivery team composed of 2-3 people with mixed backgrounds (business & sales, mathematics & predictive analytics, database & data management). The successful candidate will have a proven track-record of designing and implementing OLAP solutions to meet business analytics requirements. He/she must be a results oriented self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must have interest & aptitude in engaging directly with Lattice end-customers. Some travel (30%) and customer-site work may be required.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have 2-3 years experience with design, implementation and administration of OLAP solutions with Microsoft SQL Server and Analysis Services
- Solid SQL skills and dimensional data modeling knowledge along with experience in developing and supporting an ad hoc query infrastructure
- Experience deploying complex OLAP solutions using MDX and pivot table services
- Experience developing data migration, cleansing, and integrity processes for the purposes of loading data into decision support applications
- Undergraduate and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related technical discipline preferred
- IT Analysts (or Business Analysts in IT organizations) with ONLY requirements gathering experience, or DBAs should not apply to this job
