Applications Engineer
Location: New York, NY ; Boston, MA
Role and Responsibilities:
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for translating detailed customer business requirements into compelling Lattice Engine product prototypes and user interfaces. This is an exciting customer-facing role requiring practical application of programming languages for web-based application development and user interface design. We are looking for candidates with good listening and communication skills, practical business sense, creativity, attention to detail, and a proven track-record of following projects to completion. The successful candidate will feel at-ease working in teams, interacting regularly with both customers and Lattice team members in Development, Professional Services and Sales. In addition, he/she will have an energetic, professional, "can-do" attitude. Some travel and customer-site work may be required.
In this position, you can expect to:
- Create compelling product prototypes and user interfaces for web-based enterprise software applications based on customer business problems and requirements.
- Work with software engineers to drive successful application development by communicating project scope and functionality.
- Collect customer feedback and iterate on application prototypes throughout the design and development process to ensure successful deployments.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience creating usable and intuitive interfaces for web-based applications; should be comfortable working with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
- Practical experience developing web-based applications. Knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, and MSSQL is a plus.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into software product prototypes and user interfaces.
- Experience working on projects with diverse teams, with an attention to detail and a drive to achieve project deliverables within given deadlines.
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (Math, Physics, Economics, Engineering, and Computer Science) is preferred.
- Strong listening and communications skills.
- Some business experience is desirable
