Shashi Upadhyay, Ph.D.

Chief Executive Officer
Shashi is responsible for advancing Lattice Engines' vision to deliver world-class analytics software to a global base of Fortune 5000 customers. Before founding Lattice Engines, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company where he served Fortune 500 clients on improving productivity. During the last downturn, he worked with the CEOs of several troubled companies to help conduct operational and strategic turnarounds. He is currently an advisor to Amar Chitra Katha, the leading children's publication in India.

Shashi holds an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur and a Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University.


Kent McCormick, Ph.D.

President & CTO
Kent is responsible for setting product direction and deployment activities. Before founding Lattice Engines, Kent served as director of business operations at EMC. In this role, he had been leading pricing and operational analytics for all of EMC. Before this, Kent was a consultant at McKinsey & Company - working with Fortune 500 companies on product development, sales & marketing business problems.

He received a Ph.D. in Physics from Berkeley, and before that a dual-degree in Physics and Mathematics from Rice University.


Tim Carruthers

VP, Engineering
Tim is responsible for Product Development, Quality Assurance and Technical Operations at Lattice Engines. Tim has more than 20 years of experience engineering, managing and leading global teams in the development of enterprise products and solutions.

Prior to joining Lattice Engines, Tim was Vice President of Engineering at e-Dialog (acquired by GSI Commerce) where he led the development of their SaaS email marketing platform. Prior to e-Dialog, Tim held executive and management positions at Netegrity (acquired by CA), Predictive Networks and Sybase. Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Portsmouth, England. 


Janet Lee

VP, Products
Janet is responsible for the product roadmap and development of the company's software products at Lattice Engines. Prior to joining Lattice Engines, Janet led the product management team for Analytical Applications at Oracle Retail (formerly ProfitLogic) overseeing the product roadmap of a suite of retail optimization applications. Prior to Oracle, Janet held senior level positions in product management at enterprise software companies Frictionless Commerce (acquired by SAP) and Marcam (acquired by Invensys).

Janet earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brandeis University. She is a co-inventor on a patent for, "A System and Method for Real Time Activity Based Accounting (7,685,029).


Michael McCarroll

SVP, Sales
Michael McCarroll is responsible for developing new relationships and expanding existing relationships through the achievement of customer revenue lift. Prior to Lattice Engines, Michael was co-founder and President of SAAS-based analytics software provider InformLink (acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation in 2003). Michael served as head of sales for CSC’s analytics offering and was a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Michael earned a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from School of Engineering at Stanford University.


Andrew Schwartz, Ph.D.

VP & Chief Architect
Andrew is responsible for Lattice Engines' software platform and leads the development team. He has participated in a wide variety of software projects, with an emphasis upon optimization and messaging systems. Prior to Lattice Engines, he served as technical partner at R.T. Shin and Associates, a DARPA-funded knowledge management startup, senior company architect at ProfitLogic, Inc., application architect at 724 Solutions, and as team lead at Algorithmics, Inc.

Andrew holds a B.Sc. from McGill University, with Ph.D. from Harvard University, both in Mathematics. His Ph.D. research was in the area of Algebraic Geometry, under the direction of Heisuke Hironaka.


Ian J. Scott, Ph.D.

VP, Customer Solutions
Ian is responsible for bringing Lattice Engines’ market-proven software solutions to new verticals, drawing on his extensive experience in financial services and analytics to develop new application areas based on customer needs.

Prior to joining Lattice Engines, Ian served as CTO for Angoss Software. During his career, Dr. Scott has conducted quantitative risk assessment for UBS and also worked for CFM, a Paris-based hedge fund. During his academic career he was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He also held research positions at the CERN particle accelerator (Switzerland), and at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Facility (California). Dr. Scott holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard and a B.Sc. from McGill.
